Money Flow
The Money Flow view traces every dollar from where it arrived to where it went. It is the same transaction data the other pages use, arranged so the relative sizes are visible at once rather than as a list of totals.
A Sankey diagram draws flows between categories, with each band's width proportional to its dollar amount.
How to read it
- Left, the sources. Salary, freelance, dividends, and anything else classified as income.
- Right, the destinations. Housing, food, transport, savings.
- Band width is dollars, so two bands can be compared directly without reading their labels.
- Colour identifies a category and carries no verdict about it.
Relative width is the thing the diagram adds. The same numbers in a table are usually read one row at a time, which makes two categories of very different size easy to weigh equally.
